Include Chiropractic in Your Quest for Longevity

There are so many reasons to incorporate chiropractic care for your longevity. The most obvious reason, and one that is the most thought of, is that it eliminates and slows down pains associated with arthritic changes. When there is less pain throughout your life, you can remain active. The more active you are, the healthier you’re going to be because you’ll be able to exercise and do things that other people can’t.

It is important to realize that people under chiropractic care across the board take less medicine and less drugs. The less chemicals and foreign substances that you take into the body, the less toxicity builds up in your body and it allows you to remain healthy and function at your optimum levels. So, people under chiropractic care have less pressure and irritation on the nerves, allowing the body to heal faster and regulate itself more efficiently. It makes the body infinitely more adaptable to stress and strains. The more adaptable your body is, the better it can handle all these stresses that come at us constantly.

A body’s ability to adapt to its external environment is really the definition of health. If your body can’t break down and can’t adapt to certain things, that’s when we get serious problems. If your body couldn’t adapt to increasing heat by opening up the pores and starting to sweat, you would get heat stroke and you would die. The body’s ability to adapt is all neuro-regulated. So, the better and faster our bodies adapt to different stresses and strains, the quicker the body can heal, run and regulate itself.

It is so important to understand that it is the nervous system that regulates all our systems. So, when we have pressure and irritation to the nerves due to subluxation, it can slow down the body’s ability to adapt to its current environment. If the current environment is extremely cold, what adaptation does the body make? It will shiver and it will create the warmth that you need so you certainly will not die. And if it’s too hot, your body will sweat and get rid of the excess heat through heavier breathing and panting like a dog would.

The truth is that chiropractic helps your nerve system remain in a dynamic state, increasing its ability to heal, run, regulate and adapt to different things. But if there’s inefficiency in the nerve system, then we start to see things break down even faster.

As far as longevity is concerned, the body heals by replacing damaged cells with healthy new ones. But it does that under the regulation of the nerve system. And what we’ve been preaching and teaching in our office, is that the nerve system controls, runs and regulates everything else. And when we have subluxations or misalignments, it puts pressure on those delicate spinal nerves, which slows down the communication in the body. The less efficient the communication in the body is, the more likely we’re going to start to see breakdowns, stress and strain accumulate and that can lead to ill health.

So, if you’re looking for a way to improve the quality of your life, and sometimes the quantity, because it really isn’t about the quantity. No one wants to be 100 years old being broke, crippled and alone. It’s about living your best day every day along the way. That’s why chiropractic is important because it allows your body and your nervous system to express its optimum potential. Your health potential and how long you live and how well you live are all related to the health of your spine and your healthcare choices.
